Crudivore

You've probably studied in school different types of eaters. There are carnivores, who eat meat. There are herbivores, who eat plants. There are omnivores, who eat everything. Then there are crudivores (krew-dih-vore). Make sure you pronounce it with the long "u" and not the short "u" so it doesn't sound like people who eat crud!

Can you guess what a crudivore eats? When you look at the first part of the word, you see crud(e). What could be cruder than eating your food raw? Most of the world would use the phrase raw vegan, but the word crudivore is a little more fun.

As to whether crudivores eat raw meat, which would definitely make them not vegan, I have not been able to find out in my research. Does anyone out there know? Send me a comment if you do.

I am Becky Lyn Rickman. I am a writer because I love words almost as much as I love the people in my life. I want to fill the world with magnificent words and then jump in and splash around in them. I live with Mr. Bingley and Mr. Darcy, my cats, but the only words they really love are "meat" and "gravy."
