Does logorrhea (lah-guh-ree-uh)sound like another word you know? It kind of sounds like diarrhea, doesn't it. There is a reason for that. Logorrhea is sometimes rudely called diarrhea of the mouth.
People who talk incessantly, or non-stop, with nothing much to really say are guilty of logorrhea. They chatter on and on. It is important to note, however, that sometimes people can't help it. They are lonely, or super intelligent, or it can even be a mental disorder. It is kind to listen to someone with logorrhea as long as it is convenient to do so. They aren't being rude. They just need someone to listen.

AuthorI am Becky Lyn Rickman. I am a writer because I love words almost as much as I love the people in my life. I want to fill the world with magnificent words and then jump in and splash around in them. I live with Mr. Bingley and Mr. Darcy, my cats, but the only words they really love are "meat" and "gravy."
